A ghost hides behind her skin
to conceal dark revenants that reside within
The Eye sees an end before it begins
pried open – a knife on a shell
ice and fire thrive in hell
and a ghost hides behind her skin
flames lick the breath of the cold
light on blood glistens like pieces of gold
The Eye sees an end before it begins
bleeding hearts quiver to the bitter end
siphoning remorse, begin to descend
the ghost hides behind her skin
a broken shell mistakes a blade for love
while gentle fingers do hover above
and eye sees the end before it begins
hidden pearl, no vapid glow
a man without a knife will never know
the ghost that hides behind her skin
sees the end before it begins.
